MOST ANNOYING VIDEO GAME CHARACTER
Navi from The Legend of Zelda
I think we can all agree that Navi’s incessant ’Hey, listen!’ is enough for even the most controlled gamer to just want to throw their controller out the window.
I first experienced Navi in Phantom Hourglass and is where I…
This posts offends me on so many levels.
There is this stupid fad to say that Navi is sooo annoying etc because of her “Incessant” hey listens but, y’know what?
They really weren’t that incessant.
She made less noise than Fi does now. And she was helpful at least 75% of the time.
That’s probably 50% more than midna.
The only way she talked a LOT is if you were doing your temples out of order because then she’s trying to direct you to the right temple. And even then it’s just a “Hey!” every now and then.
Above and beyond the stupidity of Navi hating, Navi is not in Phantom Hourglass.
The faerie in Phantom Hourglass, Celia, has a distinct personality, story, etc. and is really not very much like Navi at all. I wasn’t a huge fan of Celia but I at least respect her as a individual character.
Worse yet, the picture at the top of this post ALSO isn’t Navi.
That’s Tatl from Majora’s Mask who, once again, has a distinct personality, etc. She talks less than Navi and is really snarky to link. She’s full of sarcasm and while being kind of a bitch at the beginning, eventually warms to link’s heroic ways. Also, she is yellow; Navi is blue. (Also, she is super rad and so is her brother.)
tl;dr Navi haters: stop riding on the band wagon.
You are why we can’t have nice things.
I really hate when people try to say that Majora’s mask is some kind of lame psychological metaphor.
You think you’re making it deep but you’re not.
You’re really reducing the game to a shell and discounting a lot of its value.
Not to mention that more often than not they hinge their interpretations on little facts that happen to be wrong. =|
Seriously.
Stop it.

This comic is fantastic.
If someone bought me this book I would totally put in the effort to actually use and properly learn to play my keyboard that has been sitting in my living room for the past five years.
And there would be so much Zelda being jammed.
(At least after all the less interesting learning music was jammed. I have learning books. Just no motivation.)
I just ran all over south clock town clacking screenshots
I needed easily available reference material from lots of angles to get started on the project and now I have it~
The clock tower is first, obviously.
Dear Lakebed temple,
Fuck you.
Continuing Twilight Princess
Lake Hylia here I come.
My dash needs reinvigorating.

Why do people complain about Kingdom Hearts being on multiple consoles, yet people don’t complain about The Legend of Zelda being on multiple consoles?
Is the LoZ fandom just more mature about it, or…?
Legend of Zelda isn’t a single plot line being told over multiple games.
At least not in any fashion that matters, timeline be damned.
The games, for all intents and purposes, are standalone. Even in those situations of direct sequel, while playing Wind Waker on the gamecube first will inform your phantom hourglass experience there is nothing preventing you from enjoying the game on it’s own merits without that background. Their slide-show synopsis is sufficient for further enjoyment.
On the other hand, Kingdom Hearts has games on PS2, GBA, DS, PSP and eventually PS3 all which are individually platform exclusive games and all of which you need to play to get the “Full story.” At least according to KH marketing. The complaint I think mostly arises from all the PSP games because, lets face it, the PSP was a pretty big flop and most people don’t have them and don’t really want to buy one just to play KH but they still want to play KH, thus the complaining on the internet.
